Just a CAS (clean and simple) Valentine this time. I used the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit Die to make the smaller hearts. The large heart was punched out of a piece of Whisper White that was embossed with Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The score lines were made with my new Simply Scored™ score board from Stampin' Up!™
Did you ever try to type on the computer with a cat on your lap??? One of my DD cats thinks she has to sit on someone's lap and since I am the only one available tonight she has made herself comfortable between me and my laptop. Sheesh.....
Here is another card from my Christmas card Stamp-A-Stack. The card base is the now retired color Mellow Moss. I used the lovely Vintage Wallpaper to emboss the Very Vanilla panel. The stamped ornament is from the Stampin' Up! set called Tags Till Christmas; the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used some of my stash of retired Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon. Now that I see this card on the "big screen" I wish I had sponged around the larger panel. For SAS cards I try to keep them quick because we make 30 cards in one night. I love sponging everything but it is time consuming. Well off to clean; my stamp club is tonight and my stamping basement needs attention!

I embossed Dasher and the sentiment with silver embossing powder. When I first started making cards I was in love with embossing. Watching the embossing powder melt as I heated it was almost like magic! Yeah well, like Trisha I am "easily amused". The card base is retired Taken With Teal textured card stock. I punched the snowflake and the scallop oval out of Brushed Silver card stock.
Fall is definitely in the air and after the hot dry summer I am so ready!!! I was inspired by Mary Brown's card Here. These little leaves are so fun to play with! I used my new Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This folder makes a really deep impression. The ribbon is retired More Mustard. The leaves were stamped with Early Expresso, Old Olive, More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry and Riding Hood Red. The card base, embossed panel and small border punched panel are Crumb Cake sponged with Early Expresso.
Making these little owls is just plain addictive! This is one of my favorite color combos, Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake. The only stamping is the sentiment. I used my Uni-Ball Signo™ White Gel Pen for the stitching and the owl eyes. Again I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch for the strip of Not Quite Navy. I love this punch. It's like having every color ribbon!!!!
The weather here in Kansas City is absolutely beautiful!!! Clear skies, a little breeze and 67. A nice day to sit outside on the deck or go for a walk. Doesn't look like I will be stamping in the basement today-maybe tonight after dark???
This was a card design from the SU demo magazine called Stampin' Success. A very easy card, clean and simple.
The butterflies were punched with the Butterfly punch using scraps. I wrapped a little piece of silver elastic cord around the middle of each butterfly. Of course I used the new Square Lattice embossing folder for the piece of white.
The base of the card is Bermuda Bay-which just happens to be 50% off! Yep! Only $2.75 for 24 sheets. Of course I just bought 2 packs BEFORE it was 50% off! *sigh!*
One of my favorite colors is pink and I love to pair it with black! This pink is Melon Mambo from SU In Colors. It is such a happy color! I suppose this does look like a Valentine card but hearts, pink, polka dots-they just seem to go together. Anyone remember when 50's clothes made a come back in the 80's? I managed a clothing store and I remember lots of pink & black polka dot shirts, with patent leather belts, wide collars and fake handkerchiefs.
This card was made with some of the new DSP in the Holiday Mini Catalog called Night & Day (which reminds me of the Cole Porter song). I love that it comes with two window sheets! The heart on the right was made by punching with the heart punch and layering a small piece of the polka dot window sheet behind. The white polka dot paper is from the same DSP. I added a few dots with the white gel pen, a little ribbon and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

This has one of my new favorite color combos, Always Artichoke and Rich Razzleberry. I had to purchase a new heat gun because apparently the old one was not getting hot enough. It took me several weeks of frustration before I realized it was my heat gun and not the embossing powder. I always thought if your heat gun went out it would simply not turn on or not get hot at all but sometimes it doesn't get hot enough. I mean how can you check it? Stick your hand in front of it?? I think not!! So if you are having trouble with all of your embossing powder melting well it could be your heat gun and you will need to purchase a new one (from me preferably!) The Daisies were stamped with Versamark and embossed in black; then I brayered So Saffron at the top, Always Artichoke at the botton and sponged Rich Razzleberry around the top edge of the So Saffron. The ribbon is the new Polka Dot grosgrain that is solid on one side.
I am having stamping withdrawals! I helped with VBS crafts at my church last week and had very little time to play. My stamping area is a disaster so I guess I should straighten it first so I can find my table-Ugh! I want a magic clean-up wand!!!
