I can't believe I have never done this technique before! It is called Faux Patina and the tutorial by Angie Leach can be found here on Splitcoaststampers. It is very, very easy and you probably have the supplies on hand!
Basically it involves lots of sponging and a little gold embossing. I used Crumb Cake as my base, then added some Not Quite Navy, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso. The last step is to lightly ink with Versamark™ and emboss with gold embossing powder. You must have a light touch or the gold will cover up the sponged on color. I am hoping to experiment with some different color combinations, maybe something with Cherry Cobbler!

SU had a contest for SU demonstrators; the winners won a Workshop of a Lifetime where Shelli came to their town and held a workshop. This is one of the make & takes at the workshop. This is a very easy card to make. The ink colors are Bermuda Bay (retiring in July *sob*), Melon Mambo, and Pink Pirouette. I liked the little detail with the ribbon being folded back.
How about a spring flower card in the middle of fall? Here in Kansas City the weather has been rainy and dreary lately. Seems like we have had very few sunny days this fall. I thought this card would make me think of summer & spring and sunshine.
I used a couple of colors I haven't used recently. The flower is from Fifth Avenue Floral. It was stamped on Almost Amethyst with Almost Amethyst ink, cut out and painted with Crystal Effects. The middle of the flower is Pretty in Pink and was punched using the Boho Blossom punch and I put a thick layer of CE on it. I like the nice shiney effect of CE but do not always think to use it. Plus sometimes I get impatient and touch it to see if it is dry and ruin it. The leaves were cut using the Little Leaves Sizzlet. I made the two background panels by using the same flower stamp, Pretty in Pink on Whisper White and Almost Amethyst on Almost Amethyst. Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Teeny Tiny Wishes

This card is made with the SU stamp set called Fifth Avenue Floral. The funny thing about stamp sets, sometimes I see a set and I can hardly wait to get it!! Then I get it, use it once or twice and forget about it. Other times I buy a set simply because it is on sale or in a demo pre-order and use it over and over again. Then sometimes I just pass by a set completely until I see all the beautiful things someone else makes with it. This was a set that I simply ignored until I saw all the wonderful cards everyone else was creating.
For this card I embosed the rose 3 times with white EP and simply trimmed 2 of the flowers and layered them on the bottom image using Dimensionals. It is hard to see
in the photo but the white has been run through the Big Shot with a Texturz plate. I love all of SU colors but their reds are fabulous!! This is Riding Hood Red that will be retiring. I like the darker red in this paper, although Ruby Red is a good substitute. SU Real Red paper is a very true red, not too orange or too pink. Even before I was such a fan of SU or a demo I would always stay stocked on Real Red paper!!
I think I should have added a little glitter to this, maybe some dazzling diamonds?
