Say Goodbye to Mr. Jones, the Turtle

One of my friends, who is also a customer,  told me that every spring the same turtle visits her backyard. She knows it is the same turtle because the markings on his shell are very distinctive. Her brother named him Mr. Jones. So here is a card in honor of Mr. Jones the turtle, LOL!

I used the soon to be retired Stampin' Up!™ set called Nature's Nest and single stamp called A to Z.  The ribbon is Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrain, also retiring. Card base is Crumb Cake. I stamped the turtle twice, once with Always Artichoke and once with Early Expresso. The shell was cut out and popped up with Dimensionals™.

Stampin' Up! Nature's Nest

Look! I made another masculine card! I am slowly but surely adding some manly cards to my stash. The turtle is from the Stampin' Up! set called Nature's Nest. This was one of the first sets in the new catalog that I put on my wish list; but it took me this long to actually purchase it. I colored the turtle with my watercolor pencils and blender pen. The card base is Crumb Cake with Early Expresso and Cajun Craze panels. The scallop is Naturals Ivory embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and punched with the 2-3/8 Inch Scallop Circle Punch. I added a little piece of some retired (but it is still on the clearance rack!) twill tape, and a few pieces of Early Expresso Word Window punches.
