Embossed Butterfly

This is one of the cards we made at stamp club last month. I love heat embossing! I played around with a few color combinations and this is the one I liked the best. I wanted to try this with Tempting Turquoise but my Tempting Turquoise craft spot was too dry. The butterfly is a piece of chipboard cut with the Beautiful Butterflies Die and the Big Shot™. We covered it with Summer Sun (retired) craft ink and embossed it with clear EP, then covered it with Versamark™ and another layer of clear EP. The swirl from Baroque Motifs was stamped on the butterfly with Chocolate Chip craft ink. Another layer of clear EP then we swiped the Chocolate Chip craft ink pad across the top and embossed another layer of clear EP. The crown is a stamp from Extreme Elements.
The layout of this card is basically a CASE from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog.

An oldie but goodie!

I forgot the name of this technique but basically you use classic ink pads to swipe coordinating colors, on a piece of vellum. Before the ink dries stamp with any image (I used a couple from Baroque Motifs) repeatedly across the vellum. You don't ink the stamp but just clean on a piece of paper in between stampings. You are actually removing ink to make the images appear. After the ink dries on the vellum (you can use your heat gun but make sure not to overheat the vellum) stamp an image with Stazon Black, I used one from Friends 24/7. The vellum is attached to a piece Of Whisper White using glue dots in each corner.
The flower is from the pretties kit, still available on the clearance rack, that was colored by with Perfect Plum Classic Ink.

Another CASE!

I saw this lovely card here by Vicki and decided to (copy) CASE it. I do not have as many layers as Vicki but I used the same stamp set, Baroque Motifs and colors, Basic Gray and Crushed Curry. I love yellow and this is such a great shade-not too bright like the in-your-face YoYo Yellow. Crushed Curry is a soon to be retiring In-Color but the new Daffodil Delight (available in the new July catalog) is a lovely shade also.
Well my baby graduates tomorrow, I have to go and decorate the church gym where we are having a reception for her. I made her a cute banner with the Big Shot Pennant Die. I will try to take a photo and post it. She didn't want her name on it so it just says, "Class of 2010".
