Negative Masking

I CASE'd this card from the very talented Gretchen Barron click HERE  for her step by step tutorial. Such a great idea! Save those pieces leftover from die cutting and use the negative image.  I use removable tape to make sure the mask stays put while you are sponging.  The colors on this card are Daffodil Delight and Marina Mist, the sentiment is from Petite Pairs.
So just to let you know it did rain (a little) and it is cooler so did I or didn't I sleep with the fork under my pillow??? Yeah right, me sleep with a fork under my pillow just so it would rain.  Sheesh! Wonder why I have a headache today????

Stampin Addicts Color Challenge

I have not taken photos of my newest creations so I am showing a card I made a few weeks ago. This was a color challenge (Tangerine Tango, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip) on Stampin' Addicts several weeks ago and although not my usual colors I do like it. Summer Sun is my favorite yellow! Yo Yo Yellow is just a little too intense. The butterfly was cut with the Big Shot from a piece of Texturzed card stock. The stamp set is from the Occasions mini. I almost didn't buy this stamp set and I only bought it because of the butterfly. Sometimes I just get so excited about a stamp set and can hardly wait to get it and then use it once and that's it. Other times I buy a stamp set hesitantly and like it better and better the more I use it. This was one of those sets. The more I use this set the more I like it. I sure hope it is in the new catalog!

This card measures 3" x 6" and the base is textured Chocolate Chip card stock. The brad is a flower brad with a rhinestone in the middle.

I am impatiently waiting for the sneak preview of the new catalog. Demonstrators get to see it in the next couple of days. I especially want to see the new In Colors! I am stalking the Stampin' Up! web site hoping it gets posted early!

We finally had a couple of warm days here in Kansas City. My garden was looking a little stunted! I was so proud of myself this year for planting in May rather than June, however, the weather has been rather cool here and I don't think my plants have grown at all. Oh well, it will get warm and they will grow eventually!!

SCS Sisters Challenge #3

This is the card I made for the SCS Sisters challenge #3. (I am one week behind-this week is challenge #4 but at least I am only one week behind) The challenge was to make something that fell under one of the three SU Contest Challenges. I chose "Orange you Glad" which was to make something that included any of the SU oranges. I decided to use Tangerine Tango because even though I like orange I do not use it often and even then I usually grab Pumpkin Pie. I borrowed this stamp set from Trisha and it just happened to be sitting on my desk. I do love this stamp set called Priceless and I should just buy my own but every time I start to buy it I think "Trisha does own this" . . . The antennae are flower stamens that also came from Trisha . Now that I look at it I should have straightened the antennae before I took the photo. The butterfly is texturzed with the SU Texturz plates and cut with the SU Butterfly Sizzix die. The middle of the butterfly is a scrap of Pacific Point Blue that happened to be on my stamping table. The sentiment is a rubon.
