The inspiration for this card came here from Carrie at Carrie Stamps. I changed the colors but the idea and layout are basically the same.
I have been trying different ways to color ribbon. This is the white taffeta which has been colored with Stampin' Pastels using a dauber. The color is not as intense as using a marker but it is easy and you don't have to wait for the ribbon to dry. The background is a piece of solid Not Quite Navy DSP from the hostess pack. I texturzed it with the Big Shot and then sanded it.
I did discover something new. Sanding blocks can be washed!! Yep! My sanding block was stained with Not Quite Navy after making this card so I put it under running water, added a little Palmolive dish soap and Tah Dah! A clean sanding block!!! It does take quite some time to dry, probably a day or so!
The card base is Sage Shadow. The flowers were some silk flowers I had that I also colored with Apricot Appeal Stampin' Pastels and a dauber. The sentiment is from a retired SU set.
Off to make some swaps that are due tomorrow night!! I am going to ride the roller coasters tomorrow at Worlds of Fun. The weather is supposed to be beautiful!!!

Hey Rhonda,
Thanks for the shout out! My computer is sick too, I super worried that I may have lost 4 years of pictures. I wont go with out back up next time. So, say a prayer for my 4 year old computer! For now I am on my husbands laptop. CUTE CARD!
Lovely card - the little bird is adorable.
Interesting technique using the SU Pastels. Looks nice too. I like the color combo you used.

Very pretty card! I love the bg texture :)
Hey Rhonda!
I achieved that look by embossing the butterfly first and then I used the bleach. I did let my Versamark dry a bit first but when I taught this to my customers; they embossed immediately and it made a really cool shadow effect!
Have fun trying it and I want to see it when you do!!
Very pretty. I love the colors you used. I'll visit here more often, you have some neat stuff on here.
