My Daughter's School Photos

This is what you do with that box of school photos you have in the closet!
My baby girl is graduating from HS next week. I have been working on an 8" x 8" scrapbook for her using 5 x 7 school photos. I actually did these pages quite some time ago but just finished the entire book Monday. These pages are on the right hand side of her book; on the left is a list of historical information about that year; Song of the year, Hottest toy at Christmas, Top Box Office movie and a few events that took place. I made one of these for son #2 but never got it completely finished. This time I finished in time for graduation.
Most of the product is Stampin' Up! with a few exceptions.

Card Organizer

This is a handy tool to have to keep track of all those birthdays, anniversaries etc. You simply write down the upcoming events on the calendar and then place the cards you have made to send or give in the pockets. I think I will even add a list of addresses and place a book of stamps in the back pocket. If I was really organized I could address the envelope when I place it in the pocket (or not-perhaps that is a wee bit tooo organized).
After I took these photos I replaced the ribbon on the sides with metal book rings because I was afraid the ribbon would come untied. If I owned a bind-it-all that would probably make it even sturdier. I am having a class on Sat. June 19 and you can make one yourself for only $12 ($11 if you prepay.) Colors & DSP will vary.

Christmas Mini Album

This is such an easy project to make. The outside panels are chipboard coasters covered with Ruby Red DSP from the Hostess Patterns pack. The inside panels are two 4" x 12" Ruby Red strips that were scored at 4" and 8" and folded accordian style. I used a paper hinge on the outside to hold the two 4" x 12" panels together. I glued the first fold to the inside of the chipboard coasters, added some Sage Shadow panels and decorated the front. I did not have any Sage Shadow ribbon so I used a little strip of paper. The ribbon is the retired Riding Hood Red taffeta (which I miss TERRIBLY!!) and it was simply attached under the front & back panels; it does not go around the back of the photo album. I did not decorate the inside but it could have a Christmas poem on one panel, stamped images, words or photos.

I still use a glue stick to attach paper to chipboard; I think it works best and it dries quickly. I may make a few of these to give as last minute gifts or simply to place around the room to decorate for Christmas.
