Melon Mambo Magic Embossing!

I love to heat emboss! It's like magic. You know you ink your stamp with this clear sticky magic potion (aka Versamark™ ink), sprinkle a little pixie dust (embossing powder) aim your magic wand (heat tool) and *poof!* the magic happens.
The flowers and leaves are stamps from the new Stampin' Up!™ set called Fabulous Florets found in the Summer Mini Catalog, embossed with Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi embossing powder. The Whisper White panel was embossed with Stampin' Up! Finial Press embossing folder.
Now it's your turn, whip out that heat tool and magic pixie dust and make something magical!

Look! I embossed the world!

I didn't realize what a bad photo this was until I saw it here! Bummer! I think I should have used the black background.
Again I used the new stamp set The Open Sea. The world is embossed with silver EP, on Basic Black with a panel of Basic Gray. The card base is River Rock. Hard to tell in the photo but there is a little torn piece of vellum on the side! Hey another manly card-I'm on a roll!
Just so you know the weather here in KC is fabulous, despite a little rain, and I am sitting on my deck with my laptop enjoying all the sounds of the outside and country music on my new cell phone!

A Little More Nautical

Masculine cards are very hard for me to make. You know how it is. No rhinestones or pearls, no glitter, can't have pink or purple, and the ribbon can't be too frilly-soooo not my style. However, this set makes it easy! And how about that Bakers Twine? Nice substitute for ribbon and not too girly. The card stock colors are Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Not Quite Navy.

Layered Medallion

Here's hoping everyone had a great Mother's Day. Unfortunately I had to work most of the day but I went to lunch with my DS on Friday and my DD gave me a sack full of goodies: Reese's Pieces, Tostitos Spinach Dip, Tostitos Touch of Lime chips, Diet Coke with Lime and a Cherry Limeade from Sonic.

This is another card we made at stamp club. I was inspired by a card on Wendy's blog Wickedly Wonderful Creations. The card stock colors are Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Not Quite Navy. The main panel is Vellum embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder layered on a piece of Bashful Blue. The ribbon is the 1/8" Taffeta from Stampin' Up!

Nature Walk Stamp Club card

Here is one of the cards we made at Stamp Club. The images are from the stamp set Nature Walk. I still love this set. The card base is Baja Breeze layered with some Early Expresso. The main panel is Natural White. I love blue and brown together. I have to admit that when I first saw Baja Breeze I was pretty unimpressed. I thought it was a little dull and boring but it has grown on me and I find myself reaching for it often. It seems to blend well with other colors.

So what are your plans for Mother's Day?? Unfortunately I work all day but I hope to drop by my mom's house after work. I have her card made and gift purchased. SHHH don't tell her! Hope everyone has a grand Mother's Day weekend!

Another The Open Sea card!

I used the new stamp set called The Open Sea from the new Summer MIni Catalog. This card started with the Wild Wasabi scallop square piece I had leftover from another project. After I cut it to fit the front or the card; I thought it looked like a ship's journal , so I added the "hinges" made with the Modern Label punch. I added a little Baker's Twine in the corner instead of ribbon (masculine remember?).
