One of my all time favorite sets, Wild About You, is "retiring" this year. I love the animals in this set because they are cute without being deformed or looking like alien creatures from another planet. Also included in this stamp set is a penguin, alligator, elephant and a very small flower. This set works great for masculine or kid's cards or for scrapbooks. This is one set I intend to keep for a long time.
The idea for this card came from the Stampin' Success magazine for SU demos. It is fairly easy to make and will fit in a regular A2 envelope. The card base is Tangerine Tango (one of the retiring In-Colors). The hardest part is making sure the images show through the punched windows. I think my giraffe is a little off but. . .It is handmade and not meant to be perfect right?

No Time to Stamp!! Ugh!!!
I can't believe it has been so long since I posted!!! I finally received my pre-order and the new colors are more awesome in person than in the catalog! I love them all!!! Now if I can just set aside some time to actually make something!!! How do you know when you have had no time to stamp???? You know when you go to your monthly upline's meeting and you only have ONE, yes I said (wrote) ONE, card to share!!! Something has got to go-my family must either stop eating or wearing clothes!!!!!! I must have some stamping time!!!!!
I did make some thank-you gifts for our homeschool support group board members. I made them a quick set of cards using the Puns From the Past stamp set. I even decorated the envelopes. I wanted to make a folio to put these in but. . . ah well I did make the cards and got most of them delivered (sorry Kris-you will get yours at stamp club). How do you like the frame around the sewing machine??? I just punched 2 round tab punches, one Very Vanilla and one Always Artichoke, and lined them up together-pretty cool huh?? Somebody else has probably already done this but it is new to me! The DSP is from the Hostess Print Pack.
My stamp club is tonight and of course the cards we are going to make are awesome!!! One of them is just too stinkin' cute!! I copied an idea out of the Stampin' Success magazine for demos and used Wild About You stamp set. Another card I CASED from Jackie! If you want to see some really beautiful cards check out her blog, Kreate With Me 2. She is so faithful about posting every day and her creations are loverly! Well I just heard the dryer buzzer and I guess I should vaccuum & dust before stamp club!!!

Layered Fifth Avenue Rose
This card is made with the SU stamp set called Fifth Avenue Floral. The funny thing about stamp sets, sometimes I see a set and I can hardly wait to get it!! Then I get it, use it once or twice and forget about it. Other times I buy a set simply because it is on sale or in a demo pre-order and use it over and over again. Then sometimes I just pass by a set completely until I see all the beautiful things someone else makes with it. This was a set that I simply ignored until I saw all the wonderful cards everyone else was creating.
For this card I embosed the rose 3 times with white EP and simply trimmed 2 of the flowers and layered them on the bottom image using Dimensionals. It is hard to see
in the photo but the white has been run through the Big Shot with a Texturz plate. I love all of SU colors but their reds are fabulous!! This is Riding Hood Red that will be retiring. I like the darker red in this paper, although Ruby Red is a good substitute. SU Real Red paper is a very true red, not too orange or too pink. Even before I was such a fan of SU or a demo I would always stay stocked on Real Red paper!!
I think I should have added a little glitter to this, maybe some dazzling diamonds?

Stampin' Addicts Color Combo Challenge #17
This card was made for the Color Challenge #17 on Stampin' Addicts. I love color challenges although I don't always participate. These challenges on Stampin' Addicts are super nice because there is no deadline!! I don't always work well under pressure! I think deadlines stifle my creativity-actually I think I just keep putting things off, or I am easily distracted; now what was I saying? Oh yeah. The Color Challenge was Pumpkin Pie, Night of Navy and Old Olive. These are great colors together. Pumpkin Pie is my favorite orange!! The set I used is Friends 24-7. Love this set!!! This is actually the first time I inked it!
I tried embossing Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware but for some reason it is not very smooth. I used Old Olive craft ink and clear EP. I think my heat gun may be going out on me-I have had it for several years and it is not (gasp!!) a SU one so I should replace it. It doesn't seem to be getting hot enough. Oh well, just pretend the hardware piece is supposed to be distressed!! It looks like some old piece of furniture that has several coats of paint on it!!!

Embossing on Designer Series Paper
This card uses a technique found in the Stampin' Success magazine for SU demos-embossing on Designer Series Paper. I don't know why but I hardly ever think of stamping or embossing DSP. The Upsy Daisy stamp was first stamped using white craft ink and then embossed with white EP. I used my new Eyelet Border punch on a strip of Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White and layered them on top of the DSP. The sentiment was stamped with white craft ink and is from Oval All, a stamp set from the Occasions mini. It was punched with the new Scallop Oval punch. The card base is Rose Red. I am going to miss Kiwi Kiss!! I think it was my favorite In-Color this year.
I am still impatiently waiting on my pre-order of new goodies and my new catalog. I keep checking but . . .

Beautiful Swaps!!
These are just a few of the wonderful cards I received in a swap with several demos. This card was made by my very helpful upline Gloria! Luckily I purchased an extra pack of this Designer Paper. I am going to try to get some scrapbooking done this summer (that is my plan anyway!) I just love this line of DSP because it is printed on textured card stock. I hope there are many packs of textured card stock DSP in the new catalog.
Don't you just love the card below with the bears? This was made by Brenda. This is the bear from Under the Stars! Isn't he great? I finally placed my demonstrator order for some sneak peek stuff from the new catalog. SU is putting our demo copy of the new catalog in our first order! I always have such a difficult time making a decision about what to order. It would be much easier if I could just buy everything!!! But I must stay in my budget!!! You should see my lists I make!!! I would write something down, scratch it off and then put it back on. It was such a mess I am not even sure I remember myself what I ordered!!
The new in-colors are so vibrant! I think I am really going to like them. As soon as my order arrives I will make something and post it.
