A Couple More Typewriter Cards

I love this little typewriter! It works so well for masculine cards. The card on the right uses Island Indigo and Crumb Cake card stock with some Island Indigo baker's twine and a little strip of torn First Edition Designer Series Paper.

I even used the little typewriter to make a Valentine for my DH. I got the idea from Mary Fish. The hearts were made using the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit die. The embossed hearts on the card base were made with the Adorning Accents Embossing folders.
Can you believe this weather? Feels like May or June not March. I remember a couple of years ago when we had snow in March and April. The only down side is my allergies are awful this year. Oh well, small price to pay for great weather...

You're My Type Meets River Rock

I am so thankful for talented stampers that share their fabulous ideas! I copied this paper piecing idea from Ann Schach. I stamped the typewriter twice; once on Very vanilla and then on First Edition Designer Series paper. Cut out the piece of paper part and adhere to the typewriter that was stamped on the Very Vanilla. Presto-looks like typing on the piece of paper. The card base is my favorite neutral, River Rock, and I added a little Cherry Cobbler bakers twine. The stamp set is called You're My Type and is available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog.

Labels Framelits Card

I made this card by using the new Labels Collection Framelits Die by Stampin' Up! I took a standard size card
(5 1/2" x 4 1/4") and simply placed the fold outside of the framelit. And yes it will cut through 2 sheets of paper! The colors are Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade, the designer paper is from Everyday Enchantment, the sentiment from Petite Pairs and the little image is from Fresh Vintage. I used markers to color the stamp so I could color the little flower with Poppy Parade.

I am going to stock up on the Poppy Parade paper it is such a great shade of red; I think it is the only retiring In-Color I will miss. Well, maybe Concord Crush and Blushing Bride just a little...

Save Your Scraps!

I am a frugal person but I have to admit that I don't always save everything. I keep bigger scraps of paper but usually toss anything smaller than 3". I also generally toss the "leftover" part of the paper after I die cut something. However, the stripe paper on this card is actually the leftover piece after cutting out the Labels framelit for the altered notebook in the last post. It just happened to be sitting on my table...

I layered a piece of Poppy Parade behind it then mounted both on a card base of Pool Party. The stamp is from a Sale-A-Bration™ set called Fresh Vintage that can be earned for free by spending $50. Markers were used to color the stamp. I sponged a little Pool Party ink on the bird just to give him a little depth. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of chipboard that I covered with some Whisper White paper.

Altered Notebook

I love writing in altered notebooks, even if it is just my grocery list!  Every fall I hit the clearance racks at Target and purchase a sack full of composition notebooks. You know those black and white marbled looking notebooks? Most of the time I get them for less than a dollar.

I used Soft Suede textured paper and added a strip of DSP around the spine. To adhere the paper to the notebook I use Stampin' Up!™ glue sticks. The butterfly is covered chipboard that I cut with the Beautiful Butterflies die with my Big Shot. The stamped image is from a Sale-A-Bration™ Stampin' Up! set called Fresh Vintage; it is one of the items you can get for FREE by spending $50.  The paper is from Everyday Enchantment and is also a Sale-A-Bration item.  I used the new Labels Collection Framlits dies to cut the layered panels.

Lovely Swaps

These are some lovely swaps I rec'd at my upline's monthly meeting. The lovely bag ensemble on the right was made by Barbara; don't you just love how the card matches???
This beautiful card was made by Gloria. The stamp is from a Stampin' Up!™ set called Bordering on Romance.   The flowers were colored on watercolor paper and cut out. Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder was used for the base of the card. So elegant! Pearls are always a nice touch!

Isn't this just the cutest? This card made by Barbara would be great for a kid's card. See those clouds? They were punched using the Cupcake punch and embossed with the hearts folder from Adorning Accents Textured Impressions embossing folders. The balloons are punched with the Large Heart punch and at the bottom of the balloon is another little heart where the string is attached.
